Some cordovan thats turned brown from burgundy, after many years of wear, exposure to sun, sand and salt water.

The Alden Norwegian Split Toe Blucher on the Aberdeen last in Colour 8 Shell.

  1. Now that's patination! How would you say the aberdeen last fits in comparison to other Alden lasts? I'm a 8.5D in the Barrie and a 9D in the Hampton. Grazie.

  2. I wear a 10.5 with all my Aldens, Anon, though some are a little roomy and others tight. My Plaza 10.5 is perfect, the Leydon snug, Aberdeen nearly perfect to a fraction loose, with the Barrie biggest of all. I have bought styles to complement each - the Leydon is a unlined, flexwelt chukka, so it's good tight for when I dont wear socks, while my Barrie Cordo Chukka on a double leather sole is for thick socks, cold days and wide leg chinos.
In my experience across a wide variety of makes, the only sure fire way of getting the size right is to try them on.

  3. Looks almost like their Cigar finish? Now that's some accomplishment.
